The area of the New Netherlands was een piece of land controlled by the Dutch around 1650.

Some of the territory included New Amsterdam, the town on modern day Manhatten who became the fundation of New York City.

The Netherlands where controlled in several areas like New Orange, New Amsterdam, Suriname, Dutch Antillies etc.
