What Is Black Ops 2 League Play?

League Mode in Call of Duty Black Ops 2 brings the competitive environment to players worldwide. If you’re itching for that MLG adrenaline rush, then League Mode might be the place to look. There are three ‘series’ in League Play: Moshpit, Champions and Team Deathmatch. Each series has its own set of rules, made modes and Leaderboards; all of which will be explained in this article.

The first series of League Mode is the MoshPit Series. This playlist is most suited for the casual player, as it features Domination, Capture the Flag, as well as other crowd favorite objective based game modes, with a little Team Deathmatch sprinkled in. Players in this series earn 1,000 XP for their multiplayer leveling after each win in this series, and 500 XP for a loss. This League is solo only as well, meaning parties of players cannot enter this mode. Finally, all games in the MoshPit series are 6v6, so casual players should be accustomed to it.

The Championship Series allows for both solo and team ranks, but the games are only 4v4. That means you and three friends can create a team and go in to the Championship Series as a single unit, and earn points together. The Championship Series is a mix of Objective Game modes ONLY, so Team Deathmatch will not be on the Championship menu. The team factor, however, does seem to favor objective modes so tread carefully if attempting solo.

Weekly Saturday League Play Comp

ANZ BO2 League Play Event Every Saturday

We are going to try out a weekly comp for Black Ops 2: League Play. Every Saturday 3PM EST.

Depending on the response for the Weekly Event we may add a Tuesday Night event as well. But this is entirely dependent on whether or not the Saturday event works.

Please check the events page to see when events are scheduled.

We encourage you to join the group chat each time an event is on, This will be an indicator of who else will be playing in the event as well as a way of answering eachothers questions regarding servers / finding games[/b]

Season 4 - Event One Feedback

Australia & New Zealand BO2 League Play - Season 4 - Event One took place last night and lasted for a few hours. Most people playing in the event were able to get their five placement matches done resulting in a division and rank they can work towards improving this season.

If you were one of the people who played during the event, thanks for doing your part and making it possible to find a game, we hope you enjoyed it. Although the group has reached more than 650 members, only a hundred or so are usually playing Black Ops 2 at peak times. So we want you to invite anyone you play against in public matches to the group. The more people responding to events, the easier it will be to find games in league play while events are on (How to do this below).

We will be continuing to run only Champions Series league play events until the group gets larger since only 8 players are needed to start a game. When the group gets larger we will start events for both the TDM Series and the Champions Series.

How to invite people to the ANZ BO2 League Play group from a public match:

1. Click on their name in the lobby and go to 'View Steam Profile'
2. On their steam profile page, on the right side click 'Invite to join your group'
3. Click ANZ BO2 League Play and an invitaiton will be sent.

You can open up multiple tabs in the steam overlay, so you can do step one for multiple people before continuing to step two if you wish.
