Rays of light bristled through the trees. The wind softly caressed the leaves of grass. The lion’s dominion had awakened. The Council had begun a new day’s reign. Jinx, one of the Five Lords of the Lion’s Order, softly smiled as he looked at LordOfPasta with a look of pleasant surprise. “Ah,” Jinx spoke, so tenderly it was nearly a breath. “You have awakened, m’lord.” LordOfPasta grinned. “Yes, Lord Jinx,” he nodded with tenuous understanding. “Today is that in which we call our banners.”

“And not just any banners!” thundered a voice through the halls of Leonis Keep, the seat of The Lion Order. Jinx and LordOfPasta turned to face him - and there he stood. Kingofthecows3, infamously borne out of wedlock in an agricultural fiefdom southwest of Leonis Keep, had risen to power threw his shrewd demeanor and cunning character, and as such, he was to be respected, even among the other High Lords.

“You all know what today is,” kingofthecows3 bellowed. Each of the three exchanged a knowing glance. “Yes m’lord. How could we forget?”

Through the millennia over which the Lion Order had reigned over their incomparable expanse, certain values instilled among the high lordship had kept their power immutable, like a steel sword forged in the Order’s most ancient anvil. Many esteemed Leonian scholars had written extensively on the subject, but even at its most overwrought, the fundamental value which guided the Lion’s Order could still be distilled to one simple mantra: Audi Leonis. “Audi Leonis,” announced the three in the Great Hall. The door swung open - JiQUi and BOT Elmer had returned from their hunt. “Audi Leonis!” they cried, knowing of the battles ahead. Forgoing its original pedophillic definition, Audi Leonis directly translated to a fearsome phrase - “Listen to the Lion.”
