Everyone, take a chill pill.

Ok, to make this clear to Corex and Team Outcast.
You had 2 matches to go. Versus Nutters and GFTO. If youre team won both games with capping point 5, you ended up second and Nutters came third. All the conclusions you make arent correct. one quote of you : ''21:44 - corex: it's quite clear that this competiton was invented by people who knew they'd win it ''
I think this is not a fair statement. In a competition some people win, some loose. You didnt wanna go to the end, so you dont make finishline. Easy as that. As for new rules, yes we are open for it, offcourse, but as we said, we finish this first then we can make next step. Even if you had 1 good match it was worth the effort. Thanks for joining us, and maybe some of outcast join us in other matches, you are all welcome to join!
corex 6 Feb, 2012 @ 10:44am
To clarify - we quit this competion due to poorly thought out rules (i could write an essay on it), players being unavailable (and sometimes unreliable), and consistently laggy servers. I think 4 defeats in a row is enough to call it a day :) We found the server yesterday was unplayable i'm afraid, and hence our swift defeat. All previous matches we faught for 90 minutes. I will say however that the timer and ready status on the server we used was an excellent addition. So despite Veen's comment that we didn't make the "finishline" (thanks for that), we did at least have a couple of fun matches along the way (especially the first one vs USA).
Karenlyl  6 Feb, 2012 @ 8:03am
Quit the competition?! Noooo~!
VeeN *69 6 Feb, 2012 @ 1:09am
Good match USA. You guys are awesome. Outcast captain Corex told me they wanna quit the competition. So we gonna have different teams next time and different setup i think. If you guys have suggestions, please tell me.
So ASBO and Outcast didnt made the finishline..... Thanks to all the positive people for youre work and effort!
Tinfoil 5 Feb, 2012 @ 8:51pm
Thanks to Veen and everyone else that helped to make this all happen. We had a blast. We're looking forward to a possible season 2?

Outcasts, don't let this last match get you down. Win by cp5 next two games and you beat out Nutters for 2nd place. Nothing against Nutters, you guys are awesome, I just like rooting for the underdog for some reason.
cake 5 Feb, 2012 @ 2:13pm
Cheers for the game outcasts. Good fight despite the lag your team had (which we're all too familiar with during away games). Hopefully we can scrounge together support for a match server that will be fair to all teams in the future.

gg team GTFO. Unfortunate, but no one could have known that would happen with the server. Yup, we're be looking forward to our next match together. Tell Coffin to take the sign off my forehead please. Ruin all my fun!

Well, nicely played America. Very nice coordination with your ubers. The switching servers thing was a hassle - sorry about that. We'll look forward to the next rematch against you guys. ^-^

I have tried to talk to you Bitebo, but you've either:
*Not replied to me whenever i've been online
*Have replied to me, but it's taken you a massive amount of time to do so.

We never even actually planned a fixed date because of the reasons above ^^^^^^^. I wanted to talk to you about having a fixed date for the match which I thought was going to be yesterday (Friday 16th) but I was waiting for you to reply to me and probably when you were going to reply to me, I had to go offline... But Avenger would've been online possibly (since he's at Slayer LAN)

So,
I call for another reschedule ¬_¬.

hey guys i cant get in contact with any memebers or gtfo so i was thinking is that a asbo win or a replayed
Ζ 15 Dec, 2011 @ 3:32pm
About sunday match, yes the server was awfully laggy, but in all honesty I'd say the Nutters were just better than us, probably better organized than we were. We still managed to hold 90 minutes so I suppose it wasn't that awful (besides the lags but oh well :P). Anyway congrats to them for their victory :)

For the few that might be interested, here are my full replays for the matches opposing Outcasts to respectively US/Canada & the Nutters teams. No fancy annotations though :(

Madg, I got the same lag issues as you do on that server, but it helps a little if you type "rate 60000" in console :)
VeeN *69 12 Dec, 2011 @ 4:34am
We are going to play on another server next time, if you want out tell youre teamcaptain. Stay positive, the other team had also lag, so that was no difference. It will improve.....
Madgnoolm 11 Dec, 2011 @ 12:39pm
seriously if these are the servers we are going to play on, count me out
itzkin 7 Dec, 2011 @ 9:36pm
Keep in mind, Astroman that you'll need 2 matches of holding point 4 and 1 match of holding point 3 to get the same score as a single capturing of point 5. And the number of matches does count !
💥SPONGE💥 (>N<) 6 Dec, 2011 @ 1:28am
Just watched that youtube of US capping 3 in last few mins of game. Awesome! Surely that must have been great feeling for the US team! Nice job!!! And shows just how well the current rules work. It also proves that pushing forward throughout the game to take cap 5 is a MUST and sitting on cap 3 too long only delays the inevitable, weather thats in the last 2 mins or the last 10 mins.
💥SPONGE💥 (>N<) 6 Dec, 2011 @ 1:09am
Please can we keep the Upcoming Events posted in advance. This gives teams time to organise whos playing. Planned events can be changed/cancelled if need be of course :) Just helps eveyone know whats planned.
Astroman 5 Dec, 2011 @ 4:00pm
What we must remember is that the whole point is to cap CP5. Personally, I would prefer for the match to be a draw unless a team caps CP5. Awarding points for capping CP3 either at the end of the game, or at points during a game can encourage a team to camp CP3, especially if it is getting close to the end.

However, in both the recent matches, the teaam that capped CP3 capped one more point that the opposition. Surely that is more important than who help what point for the most time. As with any sport, it doesn't matter who was leading going into the last five minutes, it is who is leading at the end of the game.

We don't play lazytown because we want a quick game (or at least I don't). We would play other maps if that was the case. So a team capping CP3 last scores a small victory; so what? If the other team caps CP4 next time, it is worth much much more.
VeeN *69 5 Dec, 2011 @ 3:39pm
As seen on the youtube clip of Tinfoil. They did a very good job taking 3. Therefor they deserved to win, no matter if you had 3 longest. Thats what this was about.

If you wanna change the rules I have 1 solution, that is make longer respawn time so the chance to cap a point , especially point 5, is easier to acchieve. (Also games will be shorter) So that prevents for having games be endless in time.

GG, awsome push USA team, dont all tilt, lets have fun and we can make changes if this is proven it dont work.
Tinfoil 5 Dec, 2011 @ 2:15pm
Great game. Corex, you have a really good team. I believe we kind of underestimated you guys.

Pretty insane what happen at the end. A win with a cap literally within under a minute left. I don't think we'll ever see another one of these. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4B_vRtv0iTM&hd=1

Lots of things I want to respond to but I'll just throw one thing out there as food for thought. Do we want games where both teams of equal skill have a chance to cap CP5 and maybe some back and forth? If yes, consider this conservative scenario between the two in the amount of time it takes to cap a point.

Round start, team A takes cp3 - 5mins. A takes cp4 - 5mins. Team B takes back cp4 - 5mins. B takes cp3 - 5mins. B takes cp2 - 5mins.
Arlo 5 Dec, 2011 @ 11:54am
Also, I would like to add that I argreed to use the point system on the bases of testing it out and seeing if requires any adjustments; hence, the additional note in the rules section that mentions "adjustments and changes". I feel strongly now, as do corex and many other players that this adjustment should be implemented and all the admins should get together and reslove this issue as soon as we can.
Arlo 5 Dec, 2011 @ 11:46am
With whatever point system we have I agree that it should give teams the incentive to push for CP5. However, my gripe is with the 1.5 hrs of game time each team needs to endure. Many people I spoke to feel extremely frustrated that the game takes too long to end. We all know that lazy is very balanced map and stalemate between two good teams are not out of the ordinary. To have to endure 1.5 hours of stalemate is extremely taxing and there is no fun in that. As Veen have mentioned before, it is possible to cap CP5 within 10-15 min of the game, so why can't we have 5 sessions of 15 min games and each team will earn points according to how far they push? The team that earns the most point at the end gets to keep the point in their tally? This way there is a bigger incentive to push every single 15 min of a 1.15 hr game instead of pushing hard at the very beginning and then sit and wait for the game to end?
💥SPONGE💥 (>N<) 5 Dec, 2011 @ 10:07am
I cant see I agree Corex, all the more reason to push forward and take cap 4 IMO. We got to have a cut off somewhere and believe me we've discussed this and tried many ideas and variations. If u think there's a risk of losing cap 3 in the final throws of the match then prepare for it. Get plenty of sentries up and pyros to push back ubers and burn those sapping spies. Same rules for all. This is exactly what the points system is intended for. To stop teams sitting on cap 3 till the end of the game ^^ Unlucky m8.
corex 4 Dec, 2011 @ 2:09pm
I am speaking on behalf of the GTFO outcasts team which have just played US\Canada. It was a very balanced match although we all suspect (including the captains of US\Canada team) that we held 3 for the longest time and we "feel" like we won it. We technically lost because they capped 3 within the last 60 seconds. We would like to add our voices to the opinion that the points system should be re-worked. The last 60 seconds of a match should not be the only deciding factor of a game which lasts 90 minutes. Other than that, was a great game, congratulations to deci and tinfoil :)
💥SPONGE💥 (>N<) 3 Dec, 2011 @ 4:04am
Just a couple of points to note here. GTFO had approximately 2 weeks to get a team organised the same as everyone else. On the night of the match which was scheduled to start at 8pm both teams had an additional 20mins to prepare. The match did not start until both teams had 16 players. We noticed that in those 20mins GTFO team was running around the map and 'playing around' as opposed to the NUTTERS who didnt move from their spawn as they were getting themselves 'organised'. Both teams had equal time to prepare. Lastly NUTTERS had only 15 players for approximately half of the match. The same rules apply to all teams and there is absolutlely no question of advantage. Get organised BEFORE the match starts.
Better luck next time guys. ^^
