Non Satis Venatus - To Game is Not Enough.

A group for all students, alumni, and prospectives of Hampshire College who love games. Let's use our ♥♥♥♥♥♥ internet to its fullest!

We already play, let's play together. If someone's planning on having some LAN fun, connecting over the summer, or just looking for multiplayer with good ping, maybe make an event of it, announce it so others can join, or just throw out invites.

Invite your hampshire friends! Lets get as many kids as we can!

WE HAVE A MINECRAFT SERVER!!

If you're on the Hampshire network just connect to:

minecraft.hampshire.edu

If you're not on the hampshire network, you can STILL connect, but you will have to download a program called Hamachi (linked below). Once installed, connect to the Hampshire network using:

Network Name: MChampshire
Password: hampcraft

Then you should be able to connect to 5.106.25.157 within Minecraft. That's us.

UPDATE: CURRENTLY DOWN

Well, technically it's up as an L4D2 server, but you connect to the same address. We're going to be shifting to L4D2 soon since it's more likely to be used. Comment and suggest something else if you want.

If you're on the Hampshire network, it's likely it will show up in the "LAN" tab of the TF2 server browser.

If it doesn't. Go to the "Favorites" tab, click "Add Server" and type in:

tf2.hampshire.edu

and the server should now be available for you whenever you click the "Favorites" tab.

If you're not on the hampshrie network, you can STILL connect, but again, you will need a network program called hamachi (again, the link is below). Connect with hamachi using:

Network Name: TF2Hampshire
Network Password: hampcraft

Then you should be able to connect to tf2.hampshire.edu if it doesn't already show up in the "LAN" tab.

Hey Hampshire Gamers!

Glad to find we have group on Steam. Don't mean to split hairs, but I think the slogan is wrong. 'Venatus' generally means 'hunt,' and though I could imagine it being used to mean 'play,' I have personally never seen it used that way, The typical word for game or play is 'ludere' - as in the english ludology - so 'To Game/Play is not Enough' would be 'Non Satis Ludere.' If you meant to have 'hunt,' it should be Venari, which is the infinitive.

In regards to the Hampshire Gaming Server: READ ME!!

So, after much lollygagging, I have reinstated the Hampshire Minecraft server @ minecraft.hampshire.edu. It is running v. 1.0.1.

As some of you may know, the co-owner of the server, and owner of the group, TomatoJustice, graduated, and what's more, he seems to be spending his time doing meaningful things like going to graduate school, studying, and generally not updating this page or anything.

This, in the absence of any formal record of lineage, would make me the successor. HOWEVER, I am, as we speak, entering the more difficult part of my DivIII. I cannot spend much time doing stuff like running the Minecraft server.

IF SOMEONE WOULD LIKE TO MANAGE AND RESTORE THE HAMPSHIRE GAMING SERVER(s), THE POSITION IS OPEN. We have a tower which was running TF2, and the server running Minecraft (might have other hardware kicking around). It doesn't even have to be those games. I'd just like to see my time at Hampshire having made impact at least in the most frivolous things I've done here.
