I remember feverishly moderating the forums to keep things in order and relevant. I was excited to be accepted as a site moderator! Soon after the money seemed to have dried up, I continued to post on the forums as much as I could. Back then I thought this might actually keep the whole thing alive. I'd message one of the elusive site admins to ask what was going on. He would always reassure me that GG would continue development. The opposite was true. Today is the last time I think I'll check on GameGibe. Much of the site is "broken", with hundred of SQL errors all over the page. It's actually quite surprising to find it still being hosted and accessible! That may be my last bit of hope for what seemed to be such a promising community.
