Thank you again for participating in the racing league poll, I believe we have a very good idea of what the drivers want and how we can improve the series. What follows is a summary of what was decided and what will be started from AFTER the Barcelona race:

Early season end and shorter seasons

The current championship will finish at Barcelona and the new one will start at the following race at Brands Hatch, following the already set calendar:

1. Brands Hatch, UK
2. Hungaroring, Hungary
3. Laguna Seca, USA
4. Zolder, Belgium
5. Paul Ricard, France
6. Suzuka, Japan
7. Silverstone, UK
8. Spa, Belgium

Future championships will have a maximum of 10 but no less than 8 races.

Race frequency

There has been decided that at least one race should be held weekly, with extra races only permissible if all racers are able to drive. This one day has been proposed to be Tuesday, but the exact day is still open to discussion. The day is movable pending notice more than 24 hours in advance.

Missing races

Drivers still have the option to miss one race with no penalty, but if they wish not to do so, they will score points for last place. DNF drivers will who participated in such race would score for higher than last.

Teams and cars

As per the current format, teams and privateers need to commit to a car for the duration of the entire season.

Points system

The current 25/21/18/16/15 points system will remain in place.

New classes

The poll showed overwhelming support for other classes in Assetto Corsa running in a parallel championship. We realise that not all of the drivers have Assetto Corsa. Those who do not wish to participate in a parallel championship need not do so, but those interested can add Assetto Corsa to their wishlist:

Drivers choosing not to commit

Some of the respondents indicated that they did not wish to commit to doing the championship. Those drivers are still welcome to join as they wish, but we highly recommend they do not take team mates.

Final thoughts

To end this announcement, we want to remind everyone that the CNM Racing League is a casual 'between friends' racing league. Rules and polls can be intimidating and the purpose of these polls are not to unnecessarily regulate the league but rather to gain a better understanding of what the participants like and thus avoid losing their interest. There is no prize for first, so don't break yourself over it. Just race, just have fun. If you finish last, you finished and that is not easy in these GT3 beasts!
