Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (also referred to as simply Modern Warfare 2) is a first-person shooter video game developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. Officially announced on February 11, 2009, the game was released worldwide on November 10, 2009. It is the sixth installment of the Call of Duty series and the direct sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, continuing along the same storyline. It was released in conjunction with two other Call of Duty games: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized for the Nintendo DS, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex, a port of Call of Duty 4 adapted by Treyarch for the Wii console.

*Multiplayer is similar to the previous two games on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. However, multiplayer on the PC is very different from previous games. The PC version no longer has dedicated server support, which has led to outrage among PC gamers. They once enjoyed multiplayer matches with up to 64 people, very strong connections, and user-made maps and mods, but are now limited to the same options as console players, and also, *have been released DLC for multiplayer such as:

Modern War Gear Solid Act 2

Last week we posted the first Act of Beatdownboogie’s Modern Warfare Gear Solid, in which Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid teams up with Infinity War’s Ghost to battle the evil Activistsun empire. As promised, the second Act – called ‘Sunburn’, went live today.

When Makarov and Liquid Ocelot team up to create Modern Gear, it’s up to Snake and Ghost to stop them. But who is the real mastermind controlling Makarov and Liquid?7

Modern War Gear Solid Act 3 has been promised by the makers. Although, they “don’t know how long it will take to finish – it might take a few months”. Well post it when it drops.

Modern Warfare 2 Bans Lifted, Players Gifted L4D2

You may have heard, or been victim of the latest Modern Warfare 2 VAC ban wave that has been going down over the last week or so on Steam. People have been complaining all over the Interwebs and creating groups to voice their frustration about the unfair and seemingly random 12,000 MW2 bannings on Valves PC gaming platform. It was thought that those who have been hit by VAC would need to repurchase the game in order to play it again.

Well, as it turns out, affected users have been given an apology from Valve president Gabe Newell, their bans have been lifted. By way of apology affected users have been given a free copy of Left 4 Dead 2, plus another copy for gifting.

From his email: The problem was that Steam would fail a signature check between the disk version of a DLL and a latent memory version. This was caused by a combination of conditions occurring while Steam was updating the disk image of a game. This wasn’t a game-specific mistake. Steam allows us to manage and reverse these erroneous bans (about 12,000 erroneous bans over two weeks).

We have reversed the ban, restoring your access to the game. In addition, we have given you a free copy of Left 4 Dead 2 to give as a gift on Steam, plus a free copy for yourself if you didn’t already own the game.
