Aliens vs. Predator 2 - Multiplayer 2023 !!!!

ATTENTION MEMBERS

Aliens Vs. Predator 2 is abandonware, so please don't remove the download links. The game was taken off of shelves in 2006 after the developer was bought out by Warner Bros. Neither company took steps to secure the rights to the game, and it hasn't been touched since.

A page dedicated to keeping the multiplayer of 2001's Aliens Vs. Predator 2, alive by providing links to places where players can download the game, the Master Server patch 2.0, and the files required to use the master server patch. And for those of you not interested in the multiplayer, AvP2 has 3 awesome single player campaigns.

Background

While many of use would like to see a re-release of 2001's smash hit PC game, Aliens Vs. Predator 2, on Steam with updated online support (I'd pay 10$usd for a steam re-release, even though I already have the original discs), the publishing rights to the game have been in legal limbo since Warner Bros bought out Monolith, the team that developed the game and the Lithtech engine it's built on. Fox still owns the rights to the aliens franchise, and they don't seem to have any interest in wrestling the publishing rights away from Warner Bros or sharing profits with their competitor. The Master Server for the game's multiplayer was shutdown in 2008, but has been kept alive through community made master server patches (2.0 being the current patch)

Technically, the game is abandonware.

So for now, anyone interested in playing the game has to find a used copy online, or find a place to download it, and we would like to help.

Lets bring this game back from the brink. Who knows, if we can generate enough renewed interest in the game, maybe Fox will notice and get it's ass in gear to secure the publishing rights and give us a proper Steam re-release.

Hello,

After 13 long years of the AvP2 expansion pack, Primal Hunt having no master server for online internet play, it's finally back online with a new master server and two dedicated servers for now.

A lot of testing has gone through this to make it stable and secure as possible! The Primal Hunt server app will be released at a later date.

PRIMAL HUNT MASTER SERVER PATCH DETAILS (VERSION 1.0)

Client:
- restored the online server browser
- removed cd key check
- fixed broken fonts on newer versions of Windows
- unlocked all resolutions in the Graphics menu
- added borderless window mode (+borderless 1)
- the game will always keep the renderer active to prevent unexpected crashes
- added raw mouse input (enabled by default, use +rawmouse 0 to disable)
- added widescreen support, automatically calculated by the game
- fixed a bug that causes black screens on Intel gpus (fix by thecanonmaster)
- improved rendering performance of some 2D surfaces
- improved text rendering performance
- chat messages are now scaled on high resolutions
- added a console (see readme_console.txt)
- added various command-line options (see readme_commandline.txt)
- fixed the internal client and server timers
- fixed animation slowdowns at high frame rates
- fixed the player character not moving at high frame rates
- singleplayer: fixed slow movement of some objects at high frame rates
- singleplayer: fixed a common crash on the loading screen
- improved the multiplayer net code
- restored the Welding Torch (replaces "Look Up" in the controls menu, default Y)
- restored the Hacking Device (replaces "Look Down" in the controls menu, default H)
- improved hit detection
- the game window is now centered in windowed mode
- fixed the flickering cursor when using dgVoodoo
- fixed the menu buttons not working in some cases when using dgVoodoo
- prevented dgVoodoo from manipulating the window style (see readme_commandline for more info)
