Anywho, the steam sale is upon on us, so prepare your wallet and whatnot. There will be many deals every day. And there are also some achievements you can fulfill to get a nifty "Winter Sale 2012" badge on your profile (so check those out too)

For those of you new to Steam Sales, welcome! Here is a quick set of rules to make sure that you get the most for your dollars this holiday season:

• If the game is the daily deal, buy it
  
• If the game is a flash sale or vote sale, buy it
  
• If it's the last day of the Steam Sale, but it
  
• If the game doesn't fulfill any of the above criteria, wait for it and it will get cheaper
  
• Additionally, each "daily deal" lasts for 48 hours, so if you miss it the first day, check again. Also, they tend to do a "best of" on the last day, so if you missed out on a deal earlier, you can try to hold out until the last day to get it again
