With the new update, we have a better opportunity to trade weapons people need to complete contracts!

Btw, while the metal worth of weps doesn't matter here, the amount of weps does. The more you have of a wep, the less valuable it is and vice-versa. So don't think that it's fair to trade someone one non-valuable wep for a lot of someone else's weps. It would make sense if it was a hat, cosmetic, or a wep that you can only get by buying, but not one that you can easily get from a random drop.

Trading anything is fine, as long as it's not metal, like keys or scrap. You can trade for anything, but metal and keys are pretty much worthless, except for getting more weapons (through crafting or crates).
