We started the original, there have been a few others as well.... South Africans are incapable of supporting a local server unfortunately. Go play EU.

A new, open to anyone, Squad South Africa community has been started this month with a local Discord and Squad server.

Currently sitting at 75 members. The plan is to seed the local server every Thursday from 19:30. We had a great turnout the last two weeks, with people also joining up on European servers on nights in between. Find the local server with [SSA] tag under "Custom Servers" in the in-game browser.

I would love to be part of whatever is required to get an SA server going! also, ShootnScoot, as offered to Donias a few comments earlier - welcome to add me on Steam (I play at least once a week) and will take you through the learning of the game. I've never once been kicked for high ping so can also point to some servers for you too. Cheers

@Osaris, Agreed! Really want to get the community back together. I'll join as often as I can, finishing my masters degree this year so I don't play as often, but if we get the okes together again, I'll definitely make a plan to join

Hi Guys, finding it really hard to find any ZA players / servers on Squad. Keen to learn to learn and play but most of the EU servers I did manage to join I was either booted for high ping or the guys weren't as friendly as I had hoped.

we need to start again with the ZA games, it was always fun to play with local guys, alot more vocal and organized than EU servers, plus you could chirp people in afrikaans :-)

Space_Cadet - just play the EU servers. 150 - 180 ping is not the end of the world in Squad as it's more a strategy and positioning that wins you fights

Ive checked the SA servers on that website in-game and the servers are always empty

Also keen to get this game. Let me know if there is a discord server or something.

Yea the fun is in good strategy and team work - you sometimes have a blast in a 40min match only killing one or two enemies. Very immersive battles

The usual local servers come and go. Most locals play on European servers though, I've played more than 500 hours with 200ping. In most situations you're not at a disadvantage, because the pace of firefights is much slower than other shooters. You get used to the slight delay quite quickly.
