What is a Shinogi?

The Shinogi is the ridge line that defines the boundary between the flat side of the blade (the Ji) and the edge (the Ha). This ridge is most prominent in the Shinogi-Zukuri style, the most common katana profile, where it runs from the blade's tip down to its base.
