I have the same problem. It crashes and send a log(/tmp/dumps) and do nothing more :/
I'm using AMD Driver(fglrx)

all of a sudden steam does not work, as in it does not start. Actually it goes into update for a split second and then nothing happens. I'm on saucy and removed the package and then re-installed after downloading it from steam with dpkg -i steam_latest.deb, but when I start it nothing happens. Anyone else having the same problem? Last night it was fine!!!!!
