Formation of Government

Breaking News!

Attention Citizens of the Island! The British Government, in accordance with local populations, have declared autonomy to the St. Florian Peoples, and their right to self government! It is suggested that our local chambers will meet to form a working Government, alongside a Parliament, Chairs, Security Forces, and set policies!

This is an exciting time in the future of our nation surely, and only time will tell where it leads us!

National Bank

The first act of Provincial Government was the Establishment of a Currency pegged to the Exchange, although currently it is pegged to the GBP and their Exchange. The National Bank of St. Florian has declared the St. Florian Dollar, and it has also opened the St. Florian Securities Exchange for buying and selling on the local market.

St. Florian, the newly formed republic, is requesting all Citizens make their way to the Parliament Building for Processing and Census Information, where they will recieve their Identification Cards.

Following the Dissolution of the British Leeward Isles in 1967, the Islands themselves found themselves on a weird, semi-strenous path to self autonomy. Some found faith and guidance in cooperation, such as the West Indies Confederation, while others went it alone. With that said,The Republic of St. Florian was born. An Island off of a larger neighbor, the Republic of St. Florian declared autonomy, named for it's patron saint, Saint Florian. The Coat of Arms of the flag is the Cross of Saint Florian, which is most notibly the cross of firefighters across the world. Vigilate, the banner, shows the Vigilance of the community and their ability to persevere through all.

The Motto was chosen based on the death of St. Florian, who drowned but was able to inspire many by his death of the sea.

The Flag colors, White, Red, Blue and Gold, represent Liberty and Freedom (White), The Path to Independence (Red), the Surrounding Seas (Blue) and the Loyality of the Peoples (Yellow).

The British Jack in the top left help to represent the cooperation in the Commonwealth of Nations that St. Florian is a part of.

As far as the Roleplay goes, St. Florian is a new nation, so no rules are truly in place other than British Norms and Mores. A British Provisional Force occupies the isles until a government is created.
