There appears to be a workaround for getting non-Steam pictures onto Steam if you really want to. Try the guide posted here: http://forums.gamingdeluxe.net/showthread.php/9811-Upload-any-picture-to-Steam

I'm having trouble uploading my screenshots :(. Everytime i try to upload em the Steam Cloud uploader says there was an error and it couldn't upload. Anyone know hows to fix this? Thanks

Thanks for your support. It's really new, so any help promoting the site/inviting people to the steam group would be very helpful. Most importantly we need content (panoramas). If you can find a game you like, find a nice spot and snap a bunch of shots, then upload them to the site, this would be the biggest help.
