We come here in solemn refuge, to meet again after losing our common meeting grounds.

On June 5th of 2017, the Steam Powered User Forums were officially terminated. Like other communities, we were abruptly displaced, lost our sense of family, and all of our history gone in the blink of an eye. It is with a heavy heart that for some of us, the very origins of our gaming career are now gone. Some of us got our name out into the online world because of SPUF, and with the recognition came technical support for thousands upon thousands of people. These people too, the ones who never registered or posted on the forums, gained benefits from our discussions. We were seen and regarded to as those who were the elite class among the PAYDAY community at it's time, finding and solving many things, all while being a sort of love/hate family who seemed to have some sort of insider knowledge. To put it quite plainly, we were highly respected.

In short, this group is for all of us from the PAYDAY SPUF era - a place for us refugees to reconvene and answer questions that we never had the chance to, a place to befriend those we never took the opportunity to do so, and a place to remember those whom we lost and will probably never be able to find again. Some of us have confided in each other deeply in the real world and have formed wonderous relationships. This is a place to serve humble tribute to that blissfuly lost time during a period in which we were at our peak, where we stood above all others, and where people looked up at us for all the answers, even if we didn't have the answers ourselves.

If you were invited to this group even though you are not a friend of anyone here or if you don't remember handing your username to anyone, it was because you were found through the Archive.org snapshots of SPUF, and if your profile had a username linked to the account, you were added that way. This group will be a friendly, neutral group. All problems from the past, will stay in the past, in hopes of a fresh start and a chance to make up for lost time. Being here, we understand that we are all on a level playing field - not a single one of us is above one another.
