Here is a list of what should be common knowledge but which often fails. We must work on this to improve our teamwork on office. I would say, failing to follow these hints will actually hurt the team in the long run so following them is strongly recommended.

1) Buying light in the first rounds won. We must buy so we can use grenades, smokes, flashes and/or fire first of all. This often makes it necessary to buy lighter weapons like MP7, MAG-7, UMP etc. Also, buying more expensive weapons in this round and loosing it to the enemy gives us a huge disadvantage later in the round and in the next rounds.

2) Buying and ignoring your teammates money. Don't fall for the mistake of buying M4, AK or even AWP because _you_ can afford it. If your teammates can't afford a weapon, buy for them instead of buying big for yourself. All 5 players must have weapons to win rounds.

3) Top spawn should always be used. That means, the guy starting closest to office goes to office, the guy closest to garage goes to garage. This makes it much easier to get those early picks, which can win rounds.

4) Split 2-3. The common split on ct side is 2 backyard and 3 office/main hall. Only on rare occasions we should split 4-1 or 5-0.

5) Split to cover. For instance, going from garage to backyard window we must have people covering both the stairs and outside. Going office and main we must cover from both office and CT steps (and main window) to prevent enemies sneaking behind us.

We need players with good aim but also can do what's best for the team and not just playing for frags. Using teamspeak with microphone is required.

It will be running pretty much day and night every day of the week (since I don't shut down my computer very often), so you can also use this when I am not playing myself.

I've compiled a short list of classic mistakes to avoid, hopefully you are all aware of these but it could be a good thing to think about in the way YOU play :)

1. Killed by reload
All should know what I mean by this. Running around a corner without safety while reloading, or running with your back towards the enemy while reloading. Also some players use 2 of 30 shots in the magazine and reload without any good reason, just a bad habit. Shake off this bad habit and add 0.2 to your kpd for sure.

2. Not paying attention to the radar
Also a classic, a teammate dies while you are busy shooting or running without any purpose or you just don't pay attention, and you fail to see this and get ambushed from behind. Good radar-usage is essential to success.

3. Not using callouts
It is absolutely essential for competetive games to be able to give correct and quick callouts to your teammates. I.e. "Rush backyard, 2" will stop your teammates from walking into an ambush, which can ultimately win you the round.

4. Ignoring the importance of smoke, flash and nades
For many maps, good usage of smokes, flashes and also nades can be key to win any match. The idea of smokes is to hide yourself when you advance, blocking the opponents view. It is not to throw at the opponent and try to blind them with it. Using smokes as a team, you could prevent a breach until the late seconds of the round, or you could use it to get inside enemy territory easily. You should always buy smoke, flash and nades first, then a weapon according to the remainings in your wallet. So many players buy ak, m4, awp etc and say "oh shit I have no money left for smoke".

5. Going to far away from your teammates
Especially when your opponent is doing an eco, this is a vital point of success or failure. Yes, you might get one or two enemies when you push them, but if you die, they get your weapon and it can help them win the round. Also you have no backup, so if you suddenly find them surrounding you, or flash you and push, you are helpless.

6. Buying the wrong weapon
In competetive play, the choice of weapon should be decided according to how your previous rounds turned out. If you win the pistol round, the opponents most likely will go eco and there is a good chance of them rushing. Buying sniper weapons or ak/m4 can be good, but if you fail, it is you that need to go eco in the next round. If the opponents have loads of awp's, it may be time for flash and P90 to take them by brute force. Also you should buy according to the rest of the team, not ending up with i.e. 5 AWP's or 5 Negev's. Using the right weapon and doing so as a team should win you at least 10% more competetive matches imo.

7. Aiming at the corner
Well ok, sometimes this is a good thing, but I am thinking of situations where your teammate pick a hostage and makes a run for it, and you sit with AWP waiting for the last guy to show himself to pick him. So many aim for the corner, when the guy comes running out in a hurry and they miss the shot. Same goes for when you take the hostage and goes long on Office, the guy in main hall usually goes into the middle of the doorway before shooting at you, and you aim far left to the corner. "You got to lead them", meaning aim one or two steps away from the corner, giving you enough time to react and fire in their path. I find that most often this will get you the kill and not aiming at the corner.
