Word in the circle is that there are issues with the engine the game is built on being unoptimized for the hardware configurations we have available to us. The rumor mill is spinning that the next version update will come with some engine upgrades and optimization will be better. However that does not help us with our current issues. From the information gathered in our test sessions and based on the input of the current administration team the decision has been made to simply run the server at 60-players for the time being. Our server will be online and displayed on the in-game browser as " [USA-CENT]Beer And Bacon[ENGLISH]".

For those of you who have been waiting for the server to come online, thank-you for your patience. I'm aware that the constant downtime and test sessions have been frustrating and it is very unfortunate that we could not find a better solution at this time. Squad is still in development and rough edges are a part of the process. In our case, those rough edges are hardware optimization for server-specialized hardware. The game's development team are well aware of the issues.

We've solved the map rotation issue, and are now working on hardware adjustments and making sure we're able to cope with the requirements of the game. As of the moment our server is restarting itself once it reaches about 30 players from a failsafe designed to keep it running at 100% CPU usage. The issues may stem from our server's clock speed or just the age of the processor we're using in general. We won't be ready for our next testing phase until roughly 12 hours from now. We apologise for the inconvience and appreciate everyone's patience while we try to ensure quality.

Good news and bad news for everyone involved in the project. The good news is that we have our OWI for Squad and our Official Server is now live and active. It is listed in the official servers browser and just waiting to go. The bad news is that we're going to need to seed it and help it fill up.
