A Gaming community for NSBHS

Some people have been asking how to connect to the server. To clear things up, I've made a helpful guide. I may turn it into a video guide later if people need more help.

There are four ways of doing this:
1) Adding the server to your favourites (recommended)
Step by step:
i) Open TF2
ii) Click start playing from the main menu
iii) Click on the favourites tab in the top bar
iv) Click on the Add a Server... button in the bottom right corner
v) Type "spiritsunite.dyndns-server.com:27016" (without quotes obviously) and click on the add to favourites button.
vi) Now the server should be in your favourites.
vii) Server passwords will be in the Friday Night Gaming event details. If there is no future one, either check through the past events for one, or ask someone in our group.

2) Joining the game of someone else on this server
Step by step:
i) If you know someone else is on our server (apart from me, it doesn't work on me), you can connect to the server through them.
ii) First open the friends list.
iii) Click plus sign to the right of our group name (scroll down to see it)
iv) Click the down arrow on anyone you know playinjg on our server.
v) Click the "View game info" to check they are actually on our server (The server name should be SU's Team Fortress Server)
vi) If they are definately playing on our server, close that window and click the down arrow again and choose "Join game"

3) Joining via the console
Step by step
i) If none of the above work, use this method.
ii) Start TF2
iii) First press the ` key (above the tab key). If nothing happens, continue on, otherwise skip to step viii
iv) Click on the "Options" button
v) Make sure you are on the Keyboard tab, and click the "Advanced..." button near the bottom.
vi) Check the "Enable Developer Console" option. You may also want to check the "Fast Weapon Switching" option, as this allows you to switch with the mouse wheel without having to click again.
vii) Now click the ` key (above the tab key).
viii) Type in sv_password "<password>" replace <password> with the password to our server and hit enter or click submit.
ix) Now type in connect spiritsunite.dyndns-server.com and hit enter or click submit.
x) You're done!

4) Put this link into your web browser: steam://connect/spiritsunite.dyndns-server.com:27016

Troubleshooting.
1) Try doing it again.
2) You may have typed something wrong. Check your spelling.
3) The server might not even be up. In that case, ask me to put up the server.
4) If other people can't get on, it might be a problem on my end.
