8 Survivor Campaigns are not dead.

They've been "sleeping".

I'm currently working on a new version of the mod however I would like some input.


L4D or L4D 2?


That's the question. There are drawbacks and advantages to both choices, however I will tell you a few things.

I have successfully put the L4D survivors in L4D2 and all it requires is that the user download a vpk of the models so that they can play and see them on the server.


However the upgrades that were given to the survivors in the mod from L4D do not work in L4D2, I've tried my best but I can't get them to.


Now, I myself prefer L4D over L4D2 the big question to me is what does the community think. I know that a lot of you love L4D and a lot of you love L4D 2. But my question is which am I going to go forward and work on this with. Like I said, advantages and disadvantages to this.

I hope you all agree but I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep the mod on Expert. There was a pretty big discussion about this a while back if the mod should be Expert or it should be Normal. I myself prefer Expert and I think that's what it's gonna be.

Either way, I no longer use StevenlAFl's server box so I am accepting donations towards the purchase of a server or servers.

Anyways, this is a bit long and a bit scatter brained I haven't been on this account in a while and I wanted to make sure I mentioned all this to you guys because I'm normally on my other account which isn't admin in the steam group.

Please post below your suggestions and if you'd prefer the mod to be for L4D or L4D2.

8 Survivor campaigns had a run through last night of a new version of our plugin. Why? Because Saturday we will be open to the public again. Which means go sign up on the fourms.


Clarification:

1. L4DRP is NOT a listen server. It is a fully dedicated server. (both of them)

2. No we do not use no_human_zombies 1. Why? Because that command no longer exists. Stop asking us how we do it all. When we realease the plugin it will include our four new survivors and the witch will be fixed.


3. When myself or Steven are on the server please respect our wishes. There are a couple of things we tested in our plugin that we don't really like, if we ask you not to use them, don't. Or I will kick you until you learn to listen.



I don't mean to sound mean, in fact I'm extremely nice but last night just a horrible run through.

Alright so for those of you that have been wondering L4DRP.net isn't closing down. We've been working a bit, but some of the issues that we have we still need the FULL SDK for.


However, L4DRP.net will start campaigns up again as soon as our fellow member BladeN64 finishes our new custom campaign, that works for 8 SURVIVORS, yes you heard me 8!

Oh, the anticipation.



LEFT 4 DEAD 2

From what I've heard and I've been reading a bit the game will be released November 17th.

It will include 5 campagns, Versus Maps for all of them, Survival Mode ready right out of the box, New Melee Weapons (chainsaw, baseball bat, fryingpan, etc), All new weapons for that matter including a flame thrower I believe, 4 to 5 new SI and a new tank.

The only downfall it has with me so far with my L4D nerdiness would be the fact that from the trailer the graphics look almost like TF2. I hope they change over time, they can't already be finished with it, they didn't finish beta L4D characters till about 2 months before release. On the other hand if it is Tf2 graphics that would be so people that had been complaining that it was too hard on their computer could play it. It would sure make hosting multiple servers way better. :D
