There are communities but it depends on your definition of active. Anyway cheers, I'll at least have a look at the discord.
Almost all the active KF2 modders moved over to a Discord server I manage and as for KF1 specifically I honestly don’t know of any dedicated KF1 communities that are still active.
The best place to try would be the official TW Forums.
You’re also free to join the unofficial KF2 modding discord server you might be able to find some information there but I can’t guarantee anything.

Group looks pretty dead to me, and needless to say there aren't a lot of people even playing that game consistently anymore.
If you like you can create a guide or thread and post in the “Tutorials” discussion category, I would suggest posting a guide that way it will also show up in the SDK guides.

I'm by no means an expert level designer as I've only been doing it for about 1½ years now, and began like most of you with little to no knowledge. Most of what I know is through trial and error and "reverse engineering" the work of others, so bear in mind I am not an Oracle and some of the advice I give may be sub-optimal (but hopefully not downright incorrect). I am still learning as well.
I intend to make addition videos covering things such as Ambient sounds, performance optimization, volumes, lighting and more.
@Kill Master
Aye mate, things on Steam quickly end up drowning into obscurity if they are a niche. Which yeah, we may have to admit we are
I’m not surprised you never heard of the group, the Seam service doesn’t really do a great job of presenting groups very well to people who may potentially be interested.
(Especially when it comes to niche things like a modding group).
So as a consequence many groups tend to fall through the cracks unless they have a strong presence in the overall Steam community.
I can offer some basic KF2 SDK help, if needed. I'm learning something new every time I work on my map but even though my knowledge is limited - I'm willing to help another modder in need..
That's all, thanks for reading
When it comes to acquiring Mods for KF2 through he Workshop you will normally have to either download the actual mod from an external link (as the workshop page is just a place holder).
OR
The workshop will just drop the mod files in KF2’s main install folder, and in that case you will most likely have to follow a set of instructions to properly install it.
The steam workshop is very limited when it comes to downloading anything other than Maps
(Note: This is just from personal experience so depending on your situation you may have to jump through some hoops to get certain mods working correctly.)
Jump over to This Thread for the download.
I'm also thinking of putting up a few map templates that i use (helps with getting started quickly on a new project)
If anyone has any new suggestion for tutorials or asset releases let me know. XD
Well you’re in luck since I’m actually in the process of restructuring this group into more of a tutorial based system instead of an asset sharing one.
However in the meantime if you have any questions I would be happy to help. XD
I've never had any problems uploading maps to the workshop before, however I have heard that a lot of other people do have problems.
Now I can lauch my map (when discover who resolve the two bugs left
Ok, if the SDK is crashing on launch then there’s most likely an incorrect setting in one of your configuration files.
Your best bet is to delete the “Engine” folder located in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\killingfloor2
As well as the “Config” folder located in:
C:\Users\*Your User*\Documents\My Games\KillingFloor2\KFGame
Then verify your game cache of both KF2 & the SDK, this will reset all the settings across both KF2 and the SDK.
Well, I was trying to fix a bug on cooking who don't save the textures change on static mesh who I used on my map. Who make do the brilhant idea of tweak on SDK, see what happened and when I click in a button close on play and cooking button who was supposed to be the same thing who build and then the SDK crash and now it don't open more.
Thank you!
If you could provide a little more detailed information on when exactly the crash is occurring i might be able to help you
