Independent Thargoid Initiative Task Force

The Independent Thargoid Initiative Task Force was founded in 3302 after the discovery of a crashed alien ship in the Pleiades Nebula. Perceiving imminent Thargoid contact and realizing the possibility of a direct threat to human-controlled space, the group was founded to study, document, and ultimately defend against Thargoid incursion. The Task Force has sworn to defend humankind at all costs, and each Pilot is willing to sacrifice their ships, fortunes, and lives to keep humanity safe.

Heads up, CMDRs!

The Thargoids have attacked 3 stations in the Pleiades Nebula as reported by Galnet and the official Elite Dangerous Twitter: https://twitter.com/EliteDangerous/status/941307088365596672

Official Trailer/Cinematic (same as one in above Twitter link).

These stations are requesting any and all Pilots help them out by evacuating refugees and bringing in a few commodities (eg, evacuation shelters, basic medicines).

A new Thargoid Interceptor Variant has also been spotted - the "Medusa" - has a Thargon swarm size of 96.

Back in the saddle again

We are now able to confirm without a doubt that the unknown ships are Thargoids and with the newest update being all about the Thargoids and the attack on a federation capital ship by the Thargoids we may soon have a job as soon as the update hits.

CMDRs be ready, you may soon be called on.

This will also serve as a update to the group. As many of you have noticed the Task Force has been largely inactive as of late due to both personal issues and people burning them selves out waiting for the next update. I am happy to say that I will be getting more active soon other then Rotations for my job irl. I will talk to the other leaders and major members of the group and get some activity going.

As of this point we controle Walker Point in our home system of Furbaide in Federation space. While no longer a major goal of the group we are looking to expanding into the main spaceport in the system but at this time hold no intrest in expanding to other systems.

We will continue to do research on the Thargoid threat and will update in the correct areas in the group as us and our allies learn things. We know the Thargoids are much more advanced then us and that our weapons and armor/shields may not be very effective. Therefor we need to train in pilot skills in combat so as to be able to compensate for our enemies tech advantage.
