Future of TWI?

I place my money on them continuing to slowly work and dawdle on RO2 while internally setting KF2 to uber high priority. I may eat my words on this, but they did a good job with kf1; and they may think that kf2 should be an easy cash grab ( And even I feel they should be able to land KF2 as a decent game ). The market segment for a zombie shooter is certainly larger than for a highly realistic shooter.

With the still crummy playercounts and the loads of remaining components for ro2 that are still not in the game ( campaign / transports ? ) I don't see it being a great game any time soon ( never mind the serious lack of maps ). Even if it ever is, playercounts would take forever to get back.

Anyways, your thoughts? And I place my 2 cent bet on announcements for kf2 before this time next year.

Classic, Updates, Free Weekend, Sale.....thoughts?

Classic - If the game was like this 8 months ago like WE suggested to TWI, I for one would have been playing. (Grade = A)

Updates - We all know the "GOTY" edition is utter bullshit and the way they promoted this as a "content" update etc... with that insincere "apology" video was crap. That said, at least the game is enjoyable now compared to me feeling like a masochist every time I played. However, it's sad that the first major "content" update was essentially moving the game out of BETA 8 months post-release of the "retail" game. Where are the numerous advertised features still not in the game? Demos, multiplayer campaign, onlin/offline competitions etc....? Plus still waiting on those transports, tanks, more maps, weapons and a completely functional sdk. (Grade = C....if this was done 5 months ago, I'd have given it an A)

Free Weekend - About time. As douchey as it was to do this the weekend of IronFront's release, it was pretty smart from a business standpoint. Obviously, the turnout has been relatively good. (Grade = B.....would give it an A if not for the doucheyness)

Sale - $39.99 down to $9.99 is pretty trashy. I feel like at that much of a reduction TW turned into a cheap whore to BEG for more players. Granted, it's been relatively successful. But it still gives us a perspective as to how TW is doing financially i.e. not as great as they claim. (Grade = B.....would be an A if it wasn't so damn cheap)

Overall Grade = B

Steps in the right direction but we'll have to wait and see how many players stick around and if TW will actually continue fixing shit and adding all of the stuff they promised......and if they do, how quickly they do it. If this game does not have all of the advertised release features and new tanks/transports, a couple more maps and weapons by the end of Summer then all is lost. If the game doesn't survive summer I bet Rising Storm is never released. If the game limps through summer, Rising Storm has to be released before Christmas to even have a chance.

Anyway, just my thoughts. Curious to see other's reception to this week's events.

I don't think anyone from this group still does, and i'm not seeing it on Steam's top-100 list right now either, so i'd say that doesen't bode well for it's overall playercount.

And on the forums even the fanboys seem to have had enough, because the game is still in dire straights, and TWI has utterly abandoned it in favour of RS (which i guess they have totally taken over now), so no content or patches for months, and nothing planned either (not untill you pay them more monies for RS! Hey, if they could get us to pay for a promised public Beta, then why not make us pay for patches aswell, right? We're in the money, we're in the money..).
