What have we become?

Dear friends,i don't watch movies,play video games or read books newer than 10 years ago or so, I find them almost uninspired in every aspect,from plot to music to gameplay.
Everything now is made even more in the name of profit at the expense of quality.
What inconsiderate and superficial choice was this?

I'm looking for this music quality level in a movie or video game, otherwise for me there's no point in buying it

Unfortunately,the only titles which have a great Ost so far are the first ones listed in my Steam profile description; out of thousands of games, the adequate ones who truly are a single whole with the game and faithfully represent it can be counted on a palm of a hand.

At least until someone brings back the beauty, or why not, even the ugliness.
Yes,the ugliness,because you can also represent trash masterfully.
But mediocrity, for me is really unforgivable and means that at the level of critical thinking our society is corrupted, really at the gas pipe and only a miracle might lift it out of this misery of shitty netflix series and worthless mainstream games (not forgetting the ridiculously cheap ones or clones of other games that can't even be considered a pastime by how bad they are and that stores constantly proposes).
This sense of generalized leveling is perceived, there is no longer any taste of meat or fish.

What do you think of this situation?

I believe that this mediocrity is a direct consequence of capitalism (which targets less evolved and more popular tastes) but even before of a society that since elementary school has no longer made an effort to educate about beauty,preferring to blindly follow the limited ministerial guidelines and a too practical and materialistic approach that needs to be completely reviewed, at least here in italy.

I taught music in state or private schools but I preferred to leave at the end of my first year of contract for this reason.
I also noticed this void in the eyes of my students; their creativity and potential was constantly kept dormant by other professors and more generally by the whole system itself.

What have we become?

From the humanistic approach,the renaissance ferment and the revolutionary fervency to a world of nonthinking slaves who have lost the ability to choose (perhaps also because there is no more choice?), buying anything that comes within reach in order to fill their inner emptiness
