Hey Fellas,

Just a quick annoncement to inform you all that Good Fella's Surf Servers will be coming to a close as of this month.
I'll do my best to explain why it is I've made this decision for you all to get a better understanding.


I made Good Fellas due to being sick and tired of servers closing down one after another due to either a bad community, bad staff, or other personal reasons with the owner of the server.
I simply wanted a place to play with my friends, I did not make Good Fellas with the intention of being "The best surfing server", it was simply a place where I can relax and play with friends, without the worry of the server going down or going to shit.


In recent months it's become clear that my server has became the exact thing I hate.

• We've had a few issues with Staff members either being immature, or releasing personal information.
  
• Most of my friends left the server due to it becoming a "try hard server you cant mess around and have fun on anymore"
  
• The community at times has had it's ups and downs, but as of recent months it seems to be sticking in the downward area with constant arguing, racism and toxicity, though after May the Toxicity side of thing has calmed down.

I've grown to no longer enjoy Counter Strike Surf, the community here has gotten awful.

It used to be the best game mode where you could just fly around, try knifing people midair and have laughs with people.
Now surf has become a competitve gamemode, where people who can't surf "should be banned because they're standing and sniping" or "This map needs to be remove, most people don't like it"

I've experimented with the server and changed it to your needs, I felt that I owed you guys for your undying support over this past year.
Many things have been changed over this timespan, such as;

• My original ethos on the server, if you joined here, you were to have a clean slate until you do something wrong, regardless of your past.
  
• The rules which were extremely minimal, just play, have fun and don't be too toxic.
  
• The map list, which was a cluster of maps for everyone to experience, try and enjoy ended up becoming the same 5 maps every other server on CS:GO use.

I personally no longer can stand playing for more than five minutes a session, I'm sure a few of you have noticed that I've been on nearly nowhere near as often as before.


A touchy subject, but must be mentioned.
Surf groups have no idea how largely they affect the community.

• Certain groups feel the need to force you to dictate the server to their needs.
  
• Feel the need to throw their weight around and brag about being the "best".
  
• Argue about petty things like being kicked, or not being good enough to join a specific one.
  
• Arguing between groups.
  
• Completley no-lifing the server to the point where newer players no longer want to play as they cannot leave spawn without being killed in <10 seconds

I'm by no means going to immedietly close the server, I'm keeping them up whilst this months payment is still in affect, during this time I, and hopefully the staff, will continue to be online to help with any issues that occur.

During this time you're free to continue playing, though if you want to go experiment and join other servers, that's totally cool.


I'm glad that even now, after whatever differences we've had, I've done something that brings you joy.


Since these will now be irrelevant, I'm going to share with you guys some of the things I were planning for the server.

• A mindmap with the, what would be, future of Good Fellas including branching into seperate servers, VIP packages, marketing, plugin and bug fixes, etc.
  
• VIP models for both teams, Bronze Silver and Gold.

The game is no longer fun, the second doing the server became a "job" instead of a hobby I've started feeling second thoughts, and this is not a descision I've made lightly, I've been thinking about this since around April after the first staff member leaking personal information was dealt with, I would never want to expose any of you guys to something that could potentially harm you, online or off.

I just want to relax and play games, man, it's what Steam's there for.
There's just no passion in server ownership for me anymore.

This past year has had it's ups and downs, but it's definetly been the best year I've had in a long, long time, make that two years with the addition of my joining into the POTG community.

I apologize for bringing this up out of the blue for you guys, I hope you continue to enjoy surf wherever you go, I wish you all the best of luck in your future endevours.
