There were a few problems with yesterday’s update (Update 158). Not massive problems, but they should all be fixed in this update.

Fixed SteamID not being passed to CheckPassword hook
Fixed possible shadow/flashlight crash
Fixed addons not showing up immediately
Fixed offline addons not working
Fixed legacy addons not mounting under linux
Fixed crash when live editing Lua in addons folder
Fixed crash on windows dedicated server using workshop collection
Fixed skin property errors (robotboy)

I sent a quick patch to Valve. This should fix the ‘steam’ errors when launching on the Mac, sorry guys, I had some last minute bugs with the update yesterday - and assumed that I hadn’t broken the osx version. We’re working on putting systems in place so I don’t keep screwing people over like this.

Some time over Christmas we surpassed the magic number and as of writing Garry’s Mod has sold 2,082,813 copies worldwide!

One word. Whoa. This is amazing when you consider that selling nearly 6,000 copies on launch blew all my expectations out of the water!

For those keeping tabs, GMod has existed for 8 years. It’s been on sale for 6 years. It had sold 1 million copies by July 2011. The average time played is 89 hours and 24 minutes, the average play session is 42 minutes long.
