⚠️PSA: Do NOT "vote for csgo teams'. It's a phishing scam!

Do NOT click links sent by friends on Steam accompanied by message requesting that you vote for their CSGO team.

We've seen a few people fall victim to this phishing method in the past month. Once your account has been stolen, it can be a struggle to recover after having been phished. Often times, users lose their accounts permanently.

Protect yourself
1) Before clicking links, always verify it's actually your friend who actually sent you a link. Do this by asking anything which only they would know.
2) Activate "Steam Guard".

3) Activate Steam Family share and restrict account settings behind the four-digit pin code.

There is a scam going around steam right now. If you guys get any links on steam to vote for somebodies team and a vague but realistic looking website and you attempt to log in with steam or with your steam info your account could be compromised. Stay vigilant! - If you have been affected check your block list to see who you have removed from friends or blocked. Contact support, Reset password and log out of all devices. I fell victim to this scam. Fortunately, I was on voice chat on another service with a Steam Friend while my account was being hijacked. My friend asked me why I was sending them a text chat message on Steam, and that's how I found out something was going on. This scam propagates by using a chat bot to impersonate you and distribute the URL for the scam website.

This will sound obvious, but before you sign into your steam account on a 3rd party website (like steam.db or a tf2backpack) make sure that the sign-in website is Steamcommunity.com; check the URL, don't be fooled by the appearance of the website itself.
