Exo ( /ˌɛks ˈəʊ/ eks-oh; Korean: 엑소; stylized as EXO) is a Chinese-South Korean boy band produced by S.M. Entertainment. Formed in 2011 in Seoul, South Korea, Exo comprises twelve members separated into two subgroups, Exo-K and Exo-M, promoting their music simultaneously in both South Korea and China respectively. Their name was taken from exoplanet,a term referring to planets outside of the Solar System. Their debut single "Mama" was released on April 8, 2012, followed by the release of their debut EP Mama on April 9, 2012.

엑소는 (/ ˌ ɛks əʊ / eks - 어, 한국어 : 엑소; 엑소와 같은화한) 에스엠 제작한 중국 한국 아이 밴드입니다 엔터테인먼트. 서울, 한국에서는 2011 년에 세웠고, 엑소는 각각 한국과 중국 모두에서 동시에 그들의 음악을 홍보하는이 subgroups, 엑소-K와 엑소-M,로 구분 열두 명의 회원으로 구성됩니다. 그들의 이름은 exoplanet, 태양계 밖 행성을 나타내는 용어에서 가져온 것입니다. 그들의 데뷔 싱글 "마마"는 2012년 4월 9일에서 자신의 데뷔 EP 엄마의 출시 다음 2012년 4월 8일, 일에 릴리스되었습니다.

EXO-K successfully concludes ‘MAMA’ debut by surpassing 100,000 units in sales

SM Entertainment‘s rookie group EXO-K has wrapped up their Korean ‘MAMA‘ promotions to outstanding achievements on the charts.

Since its release on April 9th, their debut mini-album ‘MAMA’ has sold a total of 100,612, a significant number considering that they’re a rookie group that has managed to cross the 100,000 mark in just two months.

This number added with EXO-M‘s ‘MAMA’, which amounts to a total of 51,643 units, brings the grand total to 152,255 units, making them the biggest selling rookie group of 2012 so far.

Their success should come to no surprise since they had 100 days of online promotions before their debut, along with CF deals for brands like ‘Calvin Klein‘ and ‘Ivy Club‘ shortly after their debut.

The members expressed, “Our debut promotion was a precious time where we were able to learn and feel many things. Thank you to all of our fans for their support. We will use this experience as a stepping stone to improving ourselves in the future. We ask for your continuing interest and support.”

Having concluded their promotions last week, EXO-K will be focusing on their international activities and productions for their next album.

Videos of SM Entertainment‘s resident rookie group EXO-K in the dance practice room has recently been revealed to the internet, giving fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the young men practicing the

The two videos capture the six members performing the choreography of “MAMA” with two demo versions, notably different from the final version of the track that was later released. Absent of the stage-chic outfits and polished sets that are present in live performances, the videos show the members’ raw skills as dancers.
