Hi Guys, just to throw this out there,

I see the issue at the moment is team formation. People want flexability and not too much hassle of setting up teams or more seriously counting on team members to be available for battles when needed.

Another way to proceed with this tournament group would be a league system.
This could involve:

• Everyone in this group is in the league.
  
• Points awarded for playing Finland games.
  
• 3 points for a win, 1 for taking part.
  
• If you drop and game continues, 0 points
  
• Alliances are randomly formed as is normally the case now.
  
• You hold the alliance place you enter at and do not switch. (all pros here so no need to switch).
  
• The host picks alliance 1 or 2 at start to be on so twarting planned grouping.
  
• Trial this league up to mid December.
  
• We can use win percentages to rate players who play more against those who play less after 15 or so games played.
  
• Over many games with many different groups the most consistant players will get to the top.
  
• League posted on this group page, kept simple.
  
  
  This league will be an incentive for people to play more ETW Finland with more flexability. At the end we get a league leader who is the GOAT lolz (for 2017 anyway) as having played with many players over a long period and not on a stacked team.
  What do people thing, comments and ideas welcome.
  
  As to Luke's concerns, we should keep it simple and non serious and use a system where all points from finished Finland games are updated with an administrator witnessing it and putting their name and date on it. If people trust the admins lolz. Other ideas on doing this are welcome.

Ok let rip the bandaid off real fast and say we got somethings wrong right out the gate for the first scheduled event.
Now on to more positive things as we grow.
First thing is we did have a battle and yes it was totally amazing and so fun. Yes I lost but I'm very used to that sort of thing. The battle raged for 2 hours and we learned a great deal from it to improve this experience for all.
Here is what we learned:
Art did cause some controvesy with over ranging and slowing the pace of the battle to a crawl.
Communication was a little less than where it needed to be, but this will actully help us in the future. We need to make sure all members of a team are prepared to be ready for a battle. The team leaders will be resposible for making sure all their team knows the start time and accounting for different time zones.
Missing team memebers due to communication was a factor but life happens and sometimes even best communication someone could miss. So do we keep players that are not on teams ready for reserves to fill in? You pick from whoever is on at the time. Thoughts?
In failing to prepare we prepare to fail. So I have seen other Empire Tourneys use challonge.com. I think this could help us prepare better and establish what team takes what side of the map (home team takes team 2 position).

I know this was long and I lost those of you that have been drinking or smoking after the bandaid part but help get the word out so we can make this successful. This can be a low effort and very fun experience but it has to be everyone together.

So I messed up on the first game and most people were confused. That is my bad and i will do my best to make sure everything runs smoothly as possible. I deleted most of the Announcements and all of the comments that we did not need. We are going to start fresh and build this to a great way to play ETW.

The Purpose of this Tournament is to increase the desire to play with more people outside our confort zone. So why do we have this confort zone you may ask. Simple we set rules. New players join and don't follow the rules or just don't understand what other team mates are trying to do. This causes players to become frustrated and sometimes lash out. For example and not to point fingers or call out a player for Allekstar's sake, but calling people idiots and rage quiting is just not cool. The point of 4v4 is to learn to play with others. Communication is the key to success. If you are entering this tourney then you should not come into this thinking you are the best ever or your team is the best ever. Expectations lead to disappointment and fustration more often than not. So represtent yourself and your team with dignity and respect. After all this is not the super bowl and you aren't winning an Oscar here just bragging rights. Again the goal here is to add players into the fold that can understand the common rules we play by. All players are welcome.
