AFRICAN EXPANSION

The Witu Society has begun laying down track for the new Kilwa-Songea rail line into the interior of the German Black Coast. A spigot for the gold, diamonds and coal of the Lake Malawi region to flow to the coast where a coaling station is being emplaced in the port of Kilwa Masoko.

The comporate authorities of Mikindani and Kilwa have been courting the highland Ngoni and Nyakyusa peoples for use as askaris.

FIEDLERHAUS UP TO SOMETHING?

Recently Fiedlerhaus has been growing its Amerika branch with several senior figures moving across the Atlantic.

The company recently brought out the Waterloo Gasoline Traction Engine Company which in 1892 produced the world’s first ‘tractor.’ A lumbering farm machine with a six horsepower engine capable of both forward movement and reverse.

The former first mayor wasn’t available for comment.
