Beachcon 8 is coming up and we are planning on having another great LAN! What I need is a preliminary count of how many of you plan on attending. The more people who confirm they will be attending, the more available LAN seats we can make available.

As of now we are limiting the entire LAN to 32 reserved seats for the night. If/when we see a demand for more LAN availability we will increase the size to 48 or more seats (room size permitting).

This time around we decided not to set up the typical long column table layout that you may have seen in past Beachcons. Instead, we will be splitting the room in half to provide a more intimate pwning experience for both the eSports and LAN sections of the big room. This also means that eSports and LAN will NOT be on the same network.

If you plan on participating in both eSports and LAN you will need to move your machine and will be limited to seating availability which again is why it is important for us to be able to predict how many people will attend the LAN.

For now I have created an event in the CSULB LAN Steam group page. The event is not an official Beachcon registration and will not guarantee you a seat in the event. It will however help us predict the amount of LAN players that want to attend and help us plan accordingly.

Do us a favor by announcing your intentions of attending Beachcon 8 and joining the Beachcon 8 event which is located in April of the CSULB LAN Steam group events page. Also, don’t forget to spread the word and have friends join our Steam group.
