3 years ago today we lost a friend. Not only a friend, but a king. He helped us through our darkest moments, led us through every trial we faced, and was there to enjoy with us the times that weren’t so bad. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about him. The day he died, he shook the earth, and the whole world became one in their mourning. It is important to remember this day, not to mourn, but to be happy. He would not have wanted us to linger in sadness on his own account, but to visit Tasmania and to continue on as he taught us, in love and compassion for one another, regardless of age, race, or creed. Today, we remember the person who gave it all. Rest in peace, Ethan.

In high school, I was dared to play "gay chicken", which is where two straight guys pretend to be gay, and the first one to chicken out loses. The other guy and I are both really stubborn, and neither one of us wanted to lose. We've been married 14 years and we run a bed and breakfast in Vermont with out adopted daughter.
