Aurora server back online!

I have rebooted the server! The game got patched a lot and think it will handle the load a lot better. Got a really fast dedicated server set up to host.

If you are interested just search for "[24/7] Aurora" and you should be able to find it just fine.

Hope to see you guys in-game!

Hi all,

Seems like they released a big "bug fix" patch of 600mb. Let's hope they improved server stability (guess we will know tomorrow). There are some other important things.

- You can actually spawn in space now. Atleast you spawn at a higher altitude right now (0.4g) making it possible for a normal respawn ship to turn around and make it out of orbit. If you want to go ahead. Please know that you have to fly out for a while to actually see some asteroids (~100km). They are on low density.

- The restart schedule is not in order anymore. I will probably do restarts once or twice every 24 hours announced in game for server stability.The restarts never really worked anyways I fear. The best thing you can do when the server is down is give me a whisper on steam!

I'm a bit disappointed but I understand your frustration, although people are complaining for issue you cant resolve and you should probably just ignore them

Hey guys,

I have decided to put the server down for the sole reason that hosting this game is still not rewarding enough. I came back hoping that performance was increased and initially it did. But this game seems to still be unable to handle a moderate amount of players on even the most extreme server setups. Even with my high maintance routines and many attempts to keep the server smooth a simspeed of 0.5 with 10 player seems to be a mandatory standard. I host this game for fun and if all I get from others is complaints about bad simspeeds (complelty understandable) whilst performing such maintance this is just not fun for me anymore.

My appologies but I hope you enjoyed your time playing on the server. In case you want to blueprint your ships or perhaps want to rehost the server (feel free) you can find the complete savegame here:

I have rebooted the server! I hope the bugs got fixed and the game is smoother. I have seen a lot of updates the past year. If anyone is interested search for [24/7] Aurora

Yeah sorry guys I'm gonna have to put it down for a while. I got some RL issues at the moment so don't really have time to host the server atm. Save game is available on request. I will open up a server as soon as I got time again :)
