The evidence is clear – Newstart is so low that it’s acting as a barrier to finding work and it’s pushing people into poverty.

If you can’t afford to get to job interviews, appropriate clothes and equipment, or the education and training you need, then how can you get into a job?

But Scott Morrison and his Liberal National Government continue to demonise Newstart recipients and refuse to increase Newstart.

Labor is calling on the Government to increase Newstart. It’ll deliver relief from poverty, help people get into work, provide effective economic stimulus and boost jobs.
