so i dont see how they can say differently..
Should be noted that one of the game developers of Blade of War is currently saying that a friend of another dev made all assets except the goblin, which they bough, while the other dev claims they bought everything. It's not a cool situation, for anyone who is curious.

and yes i do have a number of games that i play that do use stock assets
finally, we do report using the report button any illegal activity, like using assets without first getting proper licensing to both valve and to the asset rights holder.
this helps remove the worse of the worse and as you can see some of the stuff has been taken down, although its not always easy to find out exactly why and by whome...
technically its actually not illegal, unity asset store license allows it, green light agreement allows it, its sort of a loop hole, but that does not mean it is right
what we do is record use here, so people know, and report it in unity thread on this.
personally i also downvote any pure asset flipping. just using a stock asset is not in itself asset flipping, again its what they are doing with it...
when we see a problem like assets being misused we normally also contact the real asset author and make sure they are aware someone is misusing their assets
at that point the authors just make sure that the assets are being properly used and that they are properly licensed.
asset authors can also do dmca takedown if there is any abuse...
let me start by saying that using stock assets on its own is not a bad thing, its what some people do with them.
if all someone does is take the stock assets and then turns around and tries to take credit for someone elses peoples work and try to make people believe that its their own work without properly disclosing that they are in fact using someone elses work, well that is bad
also if all someone is doing is turning around without adding any value and tryinf to sell the asset as their own creation without putting any added value into the thing, well that is also bad
but to be honest there are number of very good games even in the steam store right now that are using stock assets and are not problem at all. then there are other games including in the steam store where all they are doing is flipping someone elses work as their own without disclosure, without adding value and without any plans to ever really create a real game, well those are bad.
Personally I think it's unfair to downvote purely because a game uses assets. There are plenty of good successful titles that use a range of third party assets, especially because indie devs & small teams don't always have the skills to build everything in a game.
The greenlight vote should be used as it's intended to signify your interest in the game. If you're interested you vote "Yes" if not you vote "No". Regardless of whether the game uses assets or not.
Notify this group of the game so it can be added to the list.
A game using assets is not necessary a bad game. Sure if they've just repackaged the demo scene from the assets that's not cool. Each game should be looked at individually on their own merits.
Here are some of the assets I could find:
Goblin (second result when searching for goblin): https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/16837
Demon (first result when searching): https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/514
Skeleton sorcerer: https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/3871
Horse: https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/3203
Playable character: https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/3791
I am sure there is more, because it looks like nothing is original but I kind of gave up searching for more.
asset flipping is basically where someone or some entity is using a build of the demo project that comes with many stock assets as their own creation doing little to no work
stock assets are assets done by a asset developer and licensed non exclusively
