Being in the same boat as you, I can echo the frustration. You could look at my workshop offering for TTS to pass the time...

OK, I found how you issue invites

Mike - re 'New Discussion' - yes, I see it and can type in the box, but when you hit 'post' button, nothing happens.

I've looked at the so-called help page, which is about as useful as any of the Steam help stuff.....

I don't see an invite option. I was looking for it when I first this up so I could invite you guys
