Agent skins were introduced to CS:GO in the Operation Shattered Web update. They destroy the competitive aspect of the game by being harder to spot either by blending with the environment or due to the surprise factor of seeing them.

Valve's way of addressing the problem, i.e. changing map spots to slightly improve visibility, is nowhere near satisfactory. Different solutions such as cl_minmodels have so far been ignored.
