EMPIRE TOTAL WAR is nice...but after all these hrs....He is revealed as one beta test! The troops are often idiot! the trend road. are not all there! 25 % of the World is not there! I'm Sad of it! We cant talks with our allied! for attack or defense! We cannot sell gun'S! or intercept the cargo ships with gun's! How ,a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Amerikan INdian can raise one army with the whole set Up of weapons....When the Master...Kill alll Road commercial, and all other allied? etc etc etc!

Well, I got the problem solved, after trying many many things.
Updated video driver, no progress. Updated audio driver, no progress.
Reinstall game, no change.
Even downloaded DirectX from microsoft and reinstalling that.
Finally, a thread on the Empire forum suggested this: try disabling audio.
Did that, and the game works, without sound.
So, that narrow down the problem: audio.
Turns out that I have to update the audio driver not from Asus (my laptop), but straight from Realtek, as they give a different driver. Now the game works.
Hope this can help if someone else has the same problem.

Hi, I'm new to the Total War series, and getting my feet wet here with the Empire: Total War. Bought it on discount, love strategy games.
I can't get it to start though. After clicking "play" on the Steam library, it will take me to the first screen....with the Sega logo..and then freeze. I had to hard shut my laptop by pressing the power button a long time.
Info: my laptop is Corei5460M, and graphic card is ATI Radeon 5730, 2 GB
Total system memory is 4 GB. My hardware seems sufficient to me.
Anybody else experience the same? Any suggestions?

So whats your impressions of TWS2 so far ?

I have only had a couple of late game CTD's and am enjoying this one a lot - seems a more polished product than ETW.

Я доволен игрой на Диске ,мне мундиромания (хотя разрабы модов к Импир,которые кстати не всегда идут,стараются мундиры разукр.по новому ,чтоб бабок срубтить и за это)не главная ,главное пороцесс игры и общения ухаха
