Who are the 8th SFG (A) | Arma 3 Realism Unit?

The 8th SFG (A) is an Arma 3 Realism Unit which focuses on providing a quality experience for its members over focusing on things like military courtesy and strict barracks behavior. The 8th was originally stood up in early 2017 before transitioning to the famed 43rd Marine Expeditionary Unit later that year. In mid 2019, founders of the 8th SFG (A) decided to go back to their roots and focus on the smaller more enjoyable parts of Arma 3 Realism. In the 8th you will find a community which is welcoming and constantly focused on bettering itself. The goal of the unit is not to grow beyond its boundaries, but yet to establish itself as a professional and highly trained unit.

-> Unit is Based in North America, Utilizing Eastern Standard Time
-> Persons Below the Age of 16 Are Not Permitted to Join
-> Active Duty Personnel Are Expected to Maintain a 50% Attendance Rate
-> Reserve Personnel Are Expected to Maintain a 25% Attendance Rate

If anyone would like to assist with a research project of the Arma Realism/Milsim community I would appreciate a response to the provided survey. All information is public with the exception of Personal Identifying Information which will be screened out of the results. This could be a great tool for unit leaders wanting to see what the arma community truly values. Although this unit is defunct I am putting this out this survey to anyone that is still here. I am currently stationed in Guam and am unable to participate in Arma Unit's therefore I decided to use some free time and do a little research about the Arma Community. As far as loadouts and things of that nature go. We will be attempting to blend in with Chernarussian Rangers, therefore follow last week's M81 format, as well as, Russian type weapons. We are in a defensive posture, therefore silenced weapons are not required. Weapons Sergeants should carry high capacity automatic weapons and Engineering Sergeants should consider anti-armor, as well as, possible mine warfare if weight permits.
