Welcome to the 79th New York Highlanders (BCoF)

Description

Currently we're awaiting the official release of Battle Cry of Freedom. Right now the game is currently in Alpha and is hopefully going to be released later this year or in 2022. Originally this regiment was formed by veteran leaders Windflower and PurplePanda who last led the 30th (Cambridgeshire) Regiment of Foot together in the Napoleonic Wars DLC and managed to build a very successful semi-competitive regiment, capturing the North American Premier League's championship in its first (& second) iteration(s) while maintaining casual members and events.

It has been quite a while since Battle Cry of Freedom was announced but we're still hopeful for the release of the game at some point in time, and when that day comes we hope to be as successful as we were in the Napoleonic Wars DLC both competitively and casually, bringing our veteran savvy and skill over to a newly polished game and providing a rich experience for new and experienced players alike.


Historic Background

The total enrollment of the regiment was 1,385, exclusive of the battalion organized in 1864, and it lost during service 116 by death from wounds and 83 from other causes. Its record is one of unfailing heroism and devotion to the cause for which it fought and it is ranked by Col. Fox among the "three hundred fighting regiments".
