I am having the same problem as everyone else and there is no solution for this as of yet. Downloaded version 2.1 on windows 7 pc, extracted and ran file. Does crash on startup. left4uncut.exe has stopped working. A problem... and must close. Only thing I can do is- close. It's quite unfortunate this patch does not cater to all pc people like myself, who live in australia, has nothing to do with windows 7- a lot of mates have same system and doesn't crash and therefore play uncensored. Just I guess patch wasn't tested on a variety of different PC's and/or computers. I've tried running admin. and compability settings as well as redownloading the file 4 times and restarting pc > 2 times and yes, my options .ini says, : [Options] autolaunch=0. Something like that. Any suggestions/help would be nice - as I just bought this game a few days ago after having left 4 dead (1) for a long time.

it's funny because the board which rates games (giving them a rating) said the zombies look like "a human being with a rabies-like virus" and thats why we have the cut down version, SO WHY THE ♥♥♥♥ CAN'T WE HAVE CORPES'

left4uncut works great with l4d2 for myself and my aussie friends , we even got a riot cop last night $

left4uncut keeps crashing 2 secs after i open it? Could you get it to work?

There is a new way to enable gore its callled l4duncut http://sites.google.com/site/left4uncut/ (go to Herunterladen)
It means we can play on normal servers with gore and achievments

Hey guys. Just noticed that if you change your steam.ini file region to 500 instead of 510, local servers will still work for uncensored :D

I found my servers IP (left4noms) on a comment a little further down, just a FYI, if I find anyone not from our community connecting to the server, they will be booted!

If you change the steam id to 500 and the product name to left4dead (without the 2) you get gore! at least in single player.
This is in the steam.ini in the l4d2 folder.

Not sure, haven't heard any news. But seems like this new patch hasn't fixed the issue, also there's something odd with the new Steam.inf regarding network patches.

Far as I see, the only way now to have this game working is proabably waiting for a 3rd party to come up with a safe and uncensored working mod. Or I suppose the other less fun alternative is making a new steam account and having a NZ friend gift you the game.

Heard there was another work around but it might be bannable, any truth to this?

grund i think they updated something but the only way you can play with gore is with a lan program like hamachi or garena

Hi guys, with the recent sale of L4D2 on steam I decided to buy it, I have changed the files to 510 and I get gore in single player, but is there anyway now to play online with friends who have the same files changed?

Same here. I found my Steam.inf was missing for some reason, nor could I setup a lobby except for singleplayer. I've varified my files twice and still nothing. Lobby hosting still works on the normal 550. But hopefully it's just a bug and it'll be fixed next update ... hopefully ...

have they patch this for online now cause i cant find or make a game anymore. only can play singleplayer

Does the 510 mod still work? or has Valve blocked the hack? I've read in some forums that it stopped working. Also is it easy to find anyone to play with using 510 mod any time during the day or is it something which should be scheduled before hand? I'm currently playing L4D1, enjoying it, and will move on to l4d2 once I've completed every campaign.

Updated Voonix 510 server with Perkmodv2 and also uploaded a few custom campaigns such as Death Aboard, Dead City 2 also working Counter-Strike weapons from the German version.

I still play with friends hosting local servers, there is only a few dedicated ones and of them only 2 are VS ones i cant seem to find anymore servers if anyone can post server IP's that would be great

What servers are running 510? I've had one decent VS game since the game came out :'(

that would be because your playing the censored version - you have to mod the files again after the patch and will have to do so after every patch
