My Desktop Alive goes aesthetic!

We took a stroll in the mall, we stopped at the beauty salon, and then travelled back in time with our memory to bring you the very first DLC of the year, a vaporwave themed DLC to be precise.
We are having a whole lot of fun imagining the things we could implement in My Desktop Alive; we have many exciting ideas for new themes, features, and improvements. For instance, with this update we are introducing a useful save/load preset button which allows you to save any worthy composition. But that's not all! As we want to make things as easy and convenient as possible for our users, we decided to move forward and make every future DLC independent from each other (starting from this one). This way people will be free to get only the DLCs with the content they're interested in, and skip the others. Being all additional content, the main application is still required, but the Nature DLC is granted for free.

PATCH NOTES:

• DLC ORGANIZATION: to start selecting elements to bring on your desktop, it’s now needed to select which content you’d like to use from the DLC panel.

• SAVE/LOAD CUSTOM PRESET: it’s now possible to save a preset; you can do so by opening the main menu from the scene. You can also load a saved preset from the main menu at the beginning.

• COLOR EDIT: from the in-app menu, under the “Edit” section it’s now possible to modify the color of an element (only available for certain elements).

• ROTATION ON ALL AXES: we implemented the element’s rotation also on X and Z axis.

• ROTATE AND CUSTOM ANIMATION: from the in-app menu, under the “Animation” section is now possible either to activate the Rotate Animation option (the element will rotate on Y axis) or to activate the Custom Animation (if applicable).

• SELECT ALL: this feature can be found in the in-app “General Settings”; allows to move all the elements present on your desktop. It’s available just for some DLC.

• DRAGGABLE MENU: the in-app menu is now draggable.

Does it need Windows Aero turned-on to run ?

Hello. Im using Windows Classic High Contrast Black theme and not Aero. will it work with that? thx!

Hey everyone, we are glad to announce the release of My Desktop Alive's first update! We received many useful suggestions from the Community in these first days, so we decided to implement some new features to the software. What's new?

• Hide/Show Title bar option (selectable in the start menu)

• Always on top option (selectable in the start menu)

• Main Menu Button in-game: now you can come back to the start menu to add other elements to your scene

Of course we’re aware this is not a huge update, the software was released just a couple of days ago, but we plan to implement many other features as you keep suggesting them.
Indeed, for the next update (which will take a bit more than a few days) we plan to introduce:

• Save custom presets
• Steam Workshop integration

First Release

Hello Folks, we’re glad to announce the release of our first desktop decorating software!
When we say “first” we mean that what we have here is just one out of many possible examples of our software's core functionality. Implementable objects, characters and animations are virtually endless, and we are willing to explore all sorts of themes and settings because it's so much fun!

Therefore, this release will be followed by a constant stream of updates and patches to keep new content, both permanent and seasonal, flowing. Speaking of which, let us present you with a special Christmas treat only available for a limited time on launch week: the Snowman!

Our aim is to allow this release to work as an input to the Community and gather suggestions from you all, in order to develop more content according to whatever you'd like to see come to life on your desktop. Of course we have some ideas floating around already, and we are currently evaluating to add some themes called Space Explorer, Sea Life World, Metropolis Skyline, and Alien Desert. Nonetheless, we encourage you to share your thoughts and desires.

Desktop "Toy"

Cool program, if you like these kinds of things, and I do. Doesn't take up much memory - around 33 MB, as far as I can tell. It's still a little buggy. Things don't always behave as you might think. Needs much more - should have an option to relocate the "header" bar or make it disappear perhaps. Should have an option for "always on top" or not. Not bad for a couple of bucks. Hope you develop it more ......

This isn't working for me.

All I get is a windowed scene that isn't on my desktop and it won't close when i try to exit.

Tunnel Vision peeps, you have done great so far :) May I suggest people add their ideas here.. to keep discussion tidier. This app has great fun potential IMHO. I will start with obvious Workshop Mod support. Ability to return to menu to add / subract...
