Saw that it is on sale so i bought but i am curious if anyone still plays co-op online?

Just bought this game recently for me and my friend when it went on sale for 80% off. We've tried a couple of times to get the online to work, but we can never seem to connect to each other. We're both on PC through Steam, btw. We tried without crossplay, with crossplay, without Epic login, with Epic login.
