Can’t find any evidence that Eternal Castle was ever an actual game.

If you stop pressing the buttons for 15 seconds, the character will sit down and every 8 seconds he will share his thoughts about where he is. For example if you are idle under the rain outside the Unholy Church, he will say "wtf is this place", "i don't want to be here", "so cold, so humid" , if you idle in the creepy pink chamber he will say "who is living here ?", "i need to get out of here", "i can't relax here" and so on. The game is fine. It's a good bit of nostalgia with modern gameplay and an interesting art style. Retro is hugely popular these days. So, I get why the game was made. But why lie about it being a remaster of a game that never existed? That's what has me scratching my head. It's just weird. It's like lying about owning a pet goldfish as a child. Like, it's believable and mundane and pointless to lie about it. Was this a pathological decision to lie about this being a remaster?...

And how have I never heard of it? I thought I knew all (rare) cinematic platformers.
