No, but also yes. There are a lot of dark themes in Inmost, but that doesn't mean it's not a fantastic story about love and pain. My ONE(1) complaint is that there's no way to change the key binds and that to dodge you have to hit control... but otherwise its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ great, little confusing until the end, but great nonetheless

Both the visuals and theme of the game are just amazing.
The smooth pixel animations and all the lighting and particle effects *chefs kiss* it was just gorgeous. The theme/message of the game was also amazing, it's about not holding onto to pain and letting it get a hold of you, of course in the game it means physically don't let pain corrupt you or you turn into this black inky creature. But the way that it applies in the real world is really something this generation needs, and I'm happy I could not only hear that message myself but also see it in a beautiful pixel styled game, as a pixel artist myself I really was stunned.

While this daring exploration of universal themes is undoubtedly well-intentioned, it eclipses the gameplay, rendering it seemingly shallow by comparison. Moreover, the game's deliberate monochromatic aesthetic, while appropriately reflecting the somber undertones of its story, contributes to a visual ambiguity that ultimately hinders the overall gameplay experience.

Furthermore, the keyboard controls fall somewhat short of expectations, hampering one's ability to fully engage with the platforming elements of the game. The omission of keybinding options is a source of frustration, as it limits players' capacity to tailor their experience to their preferences. Consequently, it would be prudent to employ a gamepad as the primary means of traversing Inmost's linear, narrative-driven journey, as doing so is likely to augment the enjoyment derived from the game as a whole.

I must note that a number of crucial junctures within the game, designed to prompt advancement to subsequent stages, did not invariably activate as anticipated. This state of affairs regrettably compelled me to revisit and replay segments in order to successfully transition to the next level.

The overall tone of the game, imbued with a palpable sense of melancholy, proved to be too oppressively grim and joyless for my personal taste. However, it is quite conceivable that another player, drawn to the game's introspective nature and unapologetic exploration of weighty themes, might find it to be an exceptional and deeply moving experience.
