I want to share the story of me with Control :0

[Rant & Impression is based upon my Xbox playthrough]

Rate: Absolute masterpiece, 10/10.

See, Control was never on my wishlist of playing let alone anticipated one. In 2019, I had the privilege to own a GTX 1060 (quite a significant upgrade from GT630 2GB to say the least), around that time RTX technology just had arrived, really wanted to have at least an RTX 2060 but that quite didn't get along, tempted to try those first gen RTX games and along them, the most famous one was Battlefield V. I played that one without RTX though, Obvious, let's not talk about battlefield here.

Along those first gen RTX games CONTROL was there, hiding Gem in the corner. Did not want to try that at all; what is this game in the dark, a brutal big building, we want open world with greenery! Did not like any trailers or soundtracks of the game back then, quiet didn't understand the call maybe.

But eventually, I did get to try the game for the sake of trying new-gen games and yes, I dropped it in an hour, just after "cleansing the first control point" & "meeting Emily Pope". Not necessarily I Did not like it but understand what's going on. A personal note here: I did only played (completed) a handful of games in my life at that point, was not very good at English nor I have much experience in gaming so far. [Not promoting here anything, but you can check my Steam profile description, where I have listed all the games I have completed so far by year, so you get an idea of exactly where I stay at that time in gaming adventure]. That was 2019.


First forward to 2020, haha that year; I again had the Privilege to build a PC but this time, a high-end one, trying not to be technical here but have to. I bought all the parts except a new graphics card! But Upgrading the whole PC to Ryzen 3600X from i5-3570, 16GB Memory, NVME SSD, good Monitor, I could finally turn on my gaming journey in full phase but how much with a GTX 1060!

The first real Game I completed in 2020 was Cyberpunk 2077, with mostly 30 FPS, and of course, No Ray Tracing. With absurdly increasing GPU price, My newly built PC was incomplete for a while but Playing Cyberpunk did help me bring my Gaming skills and unblock my brain for it haha, kidding, Cyberpunk was average at that time and with 1060 you can only imagine.

First forward to 2022, I upgraded to an RTX 3070 Ti FE thankfully, and had completed a good amount of games by that time.


HAD NO PLAN TO PLAY CONTROL.


It was mid-2022, me in the midst of playing and trying so many games, I had a notification from Gamepass on mobile, saying "Control is leaving Gamepass soon". I didn't even know Control was in Gamepass! Don't know why, I immediately had the urge to return home and try to Play the game again after almost 3 years. I downloaded and started playing, little did I know, this was going to be my "Absolutely Masterpiece No.1" game which I had no plan to play ever.

I had to play fast so I could finish it before it leaves; I am the kind of gamer who appreciates the creation, stops by to see all the little details, not really after achievements because most of the time those tasks are excessively time-consuming but doing 100% on Control is a necessity to understand the Remedy lore.

See, the most incredible aspect about Control is the Atmosphere, it feels like a Dream. Respect to Remedy Entertainment, they did catch the environment outstandingly. you know a game is good when your Heart pounds, feel like you are not Controlling the protagonist but you are the protagonist and being that, being in THE OLDEST HOUSE, around such dreamy sequence, shifting hallways, brutal concrete, water pipes, lush visuals, big hall rooms, infinite ceiling, not being able to see the other side of the wall, the lights with no source, the ambient sounds with no meaning, the floating harmless Human bodies, and A SPACE! Inside! It feels surreal, deep, immense and when you think all that within a Windowless Building it becomes an unprecedentedly complex world. It is the most mesmerizing experience I have ever had.

Control left.

It became a benchmark for me to compare other games. Huge replay-ability and wanting to do 100% led me to say, "I will surely get back to it again". Over time, I played many games, Control remains TOP 1. Still searching. Maybe one day. If not replacing at least staying beside Control. But It's hard to be that perfect. This is why, "Control 2" is my most anticipated game in the world. After that, I began to search for other Remedy games, and loved all of them from Quantum Break to Alan Wake I. And I found out, that Max Payne is also made by Remedy! I realized the connection why I love Remedy games so much. It was that time I remembered "Max-Payne 2" was the first game I had ever completed at being only 10. My little brain did not understand a thing but cried at the credit roll.

I believe, up until now my short play time on steam been explained. I Played it on Gamepass 2 years ago.

Sometimes, things grow in our heads and minds more over time, Control is one of them to me. Still not being able to replay It became more dream-like, which made me more eager to jump into Control World, I don't even need to forget anything. It Grew on me so much, I don't even nit-pick Control anymore. I wish by the time I get to replay it, I gain the privilege to have an OLED monitor & to run it well, a GPU upgrade but Control will be a stunning experience regardless.

***[EDIT: I don't plan for the anticipated RE-PLAY as of now, too many backlogs. If you see my playtime is increasing, it is because sometimes I stay in the first entry reception room and feel the vastness of THE OLDEST HOUSE in side. I plan to re-play in 2025, until then not even taking the stares to executive section and no I am perfectly normal Human being XD].

REMEDY ENTERTAINMENT, THANK YOU.

A solid title if your looking for an eerie action shooter with a decent skill curve, do not recommend on psychedelics....not that I would know. 8/10

Very good game. Perfect mix between horror and regular game play. I can't play a lot of horror games because they're too scary but this one is perfect. More suspense than anything. Very good game.
