New player here, never played it before because I saw people saying "its hard to learn, people gank and kill you constantly".

Note: The game is not P2W, but to enjoy it you will need to pay for a monthly subscription that costs up to 15 euros. You can read the rest of the review and it might convince you to play this game. If you are NOT willing to pay a monthly sub, this game is not for you.

People say its P2W because you can buy credits with plex (the premium currency). What they forget to say is that you actually buy plex from other players, so everyone gets something. This way players without a monthly sub can still pay for one with plex they can buy from other players.

Everything in the game is player crafted. You can have trillions in your bank, if the market doesn't have the ship or you are bad at the game, buying in game currency with plex is equal to nothing. The game has a system to diminish the damage done to the economy when too many people lose the same kind of ship. I myself don't think this breaks the economy and from what I saw the ingame economy is very well balanced, this is due to the industrialist changes they made.

1. I will write a little description about the PVP concept in this game in the eyes of a noob. There are different kind of space systems in the game:
- high security (heavily guarded by one of the faction NPCs police)
- low security (there is security but not as responsive and not as many)
- null security (no security)

As a newby you will start in high/low sec part of the game, you can but you don't need to go to null sec. Null sec is very contested by PVP because is controlled only and only by corporation/factions made by players.
You will see on youtube videos about "how to make billions in EVE", this usually involves you going to null sec. Don't do it, remain in high/low sec to learn the game.

High/low sec is still contested and player corporations control different systems, you still can get ganked and killed if you don't know how to survive, travel the map and use gadgets.

2. The first thing you need to learn is how to survive and lower the chances of you getting attacked. And if you get into conflict, learn how to escape (for example how to preemptively do stuff to increase your chances of survivability). Keyword to search on youtube: "Eve how to bookmark a safe spot", "How To Navigate Space So You Don't Lose Your Ship", "Eve How to use directional scanner to survive".

After you learn those things you are ready to have a pleasant experience.

3. Don't look at videos that tell you to go to null sec to make money. Its not worth it, learn the game slowly, the more you know about the game and the more you research your skill the more ways of making money the game offers you. The game has plenty of PVE activities that pay well enough depending on how advanced and progressed your character is.

4. There are 3 things to focus on in this game as a beginner:
- Find a corporation (equivalent of a guild in other mmos), they can help you learn the game faster. And most corpos already have home systems that will help you a lot.
- do your AIR Career Program missions, the game now has a very good tutorial that by the end of it will lead you to complete your AIR Career Program. This will teach you about the many things (PVE and PVP) you can do in Eve, at least a part of them that will make it way easier for you to learn about the game content.
- Make money with PVE missions and dailies. The game now has a very well designed daily system that gives a lot of credits for a new player, you can make up to 3-4 millions a day, in 3 days you can build a very well armed destroyer to clear basic missions and farm some credits, it will cost up to 3 millions to make a nice miner to make some money that way.

5. YOU DON'T NEED BILLIONS OF CREDITS UPFRONT TO ENJOY IT. The game has a ship tree system and a skill tree progress system. In order to buy new ships and equip them, you will need to research certain skills to higher levels. If you have billions you wont be able to buy bigger ships yet unless you research them and this can take days/weeks.

Any size ship in this game is very good at something. Frigates/Destroyers/Cruisers/etc all have advantages and disadvantages.

6. When you create your character decide what fantasy appeals to you. There are 2 main ways to tank damage in this game, shield tanking and armor tanking. There are several types of weapons: missiles, drones, hybrid turrets, Gatling guns, thermal lasers, space shotguns.

Choose the faction based on what your fantasy tells you to play. I like ships with angles, I love the idea of tanking with shields in space and I really love the idea of space missiles. So for me the choice was Caldari.

If you love for example, armor tanking, ships with curves but tech enough and being really focused on drones as a main way to deal damage. Gallente is for you.

I gave you 2 examples. Look out for the rest yourself.

7. I talked with people from my corporation and researched the updates made in the last 4 years myself. The devs really pushed a lot of content to make EVE more dynamic and interesting not only for older players but for new players as well. Everyone said that the game improved a lot and very little updates were made to destroy it or make it worse.

I saw a lot of negative comments and tbf, after I played myself, a lot of them are bs people post because:"
- they got frustrated due to them being killed by a better player
- new players are ignoring the tutorials and just rushing to null security sectors because a "youtuber" told them this is the best way to make credits in game.
- people not realizing they are playing a PVP game, learn to survive (the first person who killed me, he sent me a message "get better kid! you are not aware of your surroundings!")
- people want to rush for "endgame"

This game is not a race, its a marathon.

The immersive universe of Eve online is not for the faint of heart. You will be thrown into a universe of industry, combat, exploration and much more via a baptism by fire, testing your combat reflexes and spite. Death is but a learning experience, lightyears can be traveled in seconds. The very meaning of life will be twisted to fit into the mold that is New Eden as you find your place in the stars.
Don't start playing if you have a busy schedule. The game requires you be online for a few hours at a time to make good progress. Skip no tutorials, read every pop up window, and LISTEN TO AURA. You're gonna need all the help you can get.

Honestly i like the game setup and stuff but damn there is soooooooooooooooooooooo much locked behind a paywall it's ridiculous.

It's a constant grind as an Alpha clone and you are so limited it's frustrating.
