I am playing the demo, finished the tutorial and crafted the canoe, it is in the water and i can jump on top of it but how do i sit down and actually row somewhere? i dont see row or paddle in crafting recipes. please help

Hiya gang. Read the small pottery thread that is present. It says to press F to interact and that automatically puts the greenware in the kiln. In my game if I press F when I am holding the greenware it simply opens and closes the door. If I place it in the kiln using Q, it doesn't cook. I have had the kiln going constantly for 2 game days now. It's not firing. What am I missing? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you....
