Don't know if it's a scripting error or something, but after you blow the safe and retrieve the documents you get the mission objective to find a way out of the villa. Everything leading up to that point has suggested you should leave the way you entered, but the rest of my squad stops moving at the top of the stairs to the second floor, and there's no way to trigger the elevator by yourself....
